Due to all the recent changes we have updated the schedule for the school store. The store will be open to in person sales on December 11th. The school will allow one person in the building at a time. Please ring the bell, by the front door, when you arrive to give us your name and cell number. Someone will call when it is your turn to enter the building and you will be screened at the lobby when you come in. If you need additional help, please contact us at [email protected]. For district devices (either school owned or TechforEd 1:1), please initiate any troubleshooting or repairs with D’Evelyn. Please utilize our flowchart/help document to help you navigate troubleshooting tips with links to resources for common issues. Written by: Lisa Bell, Teacher Librarian | Technology Coordinator SECURLY HOME With remote learning as our new reality, we wanted to remind you that Jeffco Public Schools provides families the ability to monitor and control their student’s Internet and app activity on district devices at home via the Securly Home app. This app offers parents the ability to both monitor and control students’ internet activity outside of the Jeffco Public Schools network. Families can see their child’s online activity in the Activity Feed. You can create Rules for your child’s device while they are connected to your home WiFi, as well as block categories or specific sites. Flagged Activities will notify you of any potential off-task searches. You also have the ability to Pause Internet and set usage timers on your child’s device. Once your student is back on Jeffco WiFi, the district filter will override the Home preferences. Reconnecting back at home, the SecurlyHome app setting will begin again. To get the app: -Download the SecurlyHome app. -Enter the email that is registered with Jeffco Connect and tap “Get Instant Access.” -You will get a confirmation email. Click on the link and you are ready to begin! -Apply Rules and use the features as outlined above. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION (ADP) As devices get older, put in and pulled out of backpacks, transported back and forth to school and home and simply used more often, we are seeing more devices needing updates and repairs. Students are responsible for damage to their Chromebooks, so we just want to make sure families know that they may purchase an ADP service to cover common damage, including: operational or structural failure caused by liquid spills on the keyboard, unintentional drops, electrical surges causing damage, etc. For devices that are part of the TechforEd 1:1 program (6th, 9th and 10th grades), protection is available. The 1 year manufacturer warranty for 10th graders ends soon. Please see the District Accidental Damage Protection Flyer for more information if you are interested.
