It is finally senior montage season! We want to see all of those adorable photos you have of your students from throughout the years. This is a special tradition at D’Evelyn and we want all of the seniors to be represented. There is supplied poster board (14” x 22”) where you can create a collage of photos of your student to be on display at After Prom, in the counseling office, and at the senior banquet. You can also order an online collage, but make sure the finished size is as close to 14” x 22” as possible. If you are looking for examples we have some in the counseling office and also on our website. The completed montages are due in the counseling office no later than Friday April 27th!! Address any questions to Amy Davis at [email protected]. SENIORS Make sure you are finalizing those college applications and begin preparing for the next step. This is an exciting time of year getting to decide the next steps in your young and very bright futures. However, this time can also be overwhelming. Talk to financial aid offices for scholarship opportunities and other financial assistance. If you have any questions about your next steps please contact your counselor! We have a ton of scholarships in our office for students to apply to! If you need scholarships and are unable to make it to the workshops stop by counseling to look at the opportunities! Application deadlines are approaching quickly so don’t wait! Also be sure to stop by counseling to fill out the senior destination form. We want to know where you are going next year and what your plans are! Also be sure to let us know about what scholarships you have been awarded so we can brag about you. Bring in those scholarship letters by April 20th to be in the graduation program! For those of you who have not payed your transcript fees you need to pay those to receive your cap and gown, so make sure you get those paid ASAP! Scholarship Workshop Are you stressing about how to pay for college? Starting in January this semester we will be hosting scholarship workshops for students. We have arranged 6 dates throughout the semester during 7th hours to have students come down and explore scholarships. We will provide you with multiple data bases to look at, we will have the scholarship of the day for students to apply to, and help you narrow down options. This is not mandatory, however, we encourage all seniors to come down and apply to at least one scholarship. JUNIORS College Essay Workshop As we are finishing up your junior year the fun of college applications will be here before you know it. The counseling department is hosting a college essay workshop for those juniors who want to get a jump start on this part of their application. We will provide insight on what colleges look for and what will make you stand out. This is optional and is open to all students! The fall can be a very busy time of the school year and dealing with college applications can be stressful. Getting a head start on your essay can ease some of that stress. This workshop will be held on April 19th during 7th hour down in counseling. |
