By Lisa Porter Increasingly, students are bringing personal, electronic devices to school. Many of them are using cellular data when they could use Jeffco’s wireless. Many students say that our wireless is slow; however, they are using the community wifi, which is an open network. In an effort to accommodate student use of these devices, as part of the overall learning environment and to provide access to a secure wireless network, the Jeffco-Instructional network (BYOD) is available for student use. It is more robust than the community network. *Students will not automatically be able to connect their personal devices to the Jeffco-Instructional (BYOD) network. Both the student and a parent/guardian must agree to opt in to the Jeffco Instructional network (instead of Community) through Jeffco Connect. Once both student and Parent/Guardian opt in, the students will be able to set up their personal devices to connect to the network. Approval process in Jeffco Connect: Parent Instructions Student Instructions If students need help, they can come to the library for assistance! Comments are closed.
