By Monte Murphy D'Evelyn High School Proudly Presents: "Is He Dead?" A new comedy by Mark Twain (yes, THAT Mark Twain!) Oct 5, 6, and 7 at 7:00 P.M. in the DHS Auditorium Jean-Francois Millet (Zach Volheim), a young painter of genius, is in love with Marie Leroux (Torie Williams) but in debt to the villainous picture-dealer, Bastien Andre (Peter Dickey). Andre forecloses on Millet, threatening debtors' prison unless Marie marries him. Millet realizes that the only way he can pay his debts and keep Marie from marrying Andre is to die, as it is only dead painters who achieve fame and fortune. With the help of his students, Chicago, Dutchy, and O'Shaunessey (Sebastian Coco, Allie Kopp, and PJ O'Neil) Millet fakes his death and prospers, all while passing himself off as his own sister. Now a rich "widow", he must find a way to get out of his dress, return to life, and marry Marie before Marie's father, Mr. Leroux (Adrian Montoya) proposes marriage to him. Confusing and hysterical, "Is He Dead?" is sure to please! Reserved seat tickets ($8) go on sale October 2 during lunches, or by calling 303/982-2600. Door tickets are $10. Comments are closed.
