D’Evelyn High School is proud to announce their 11th Class of Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees. This year’s inductees: (pictured left to right)
Currently we have 44 individual inductees and 3 teams in our Athletic Hall of Fame. This year’s class was honored on March 15 at Rolling Hills Country Club in a very nice ceremony. We are excited to keep this tradition going into the years to come. Each month coaches can nominate athletes for Student Athlete of the Month. To be selected for this prestigious award, athletes must be academically eligible every week and make significant contributions to their teams, in the eyes of their coaches. Woody Oliver has been coaching tennis for almost a decade and been playing since he was 3. He was born and raised in Littleton, CO and was a varsity tennis captain at Heritage High school, where he placed 3rd individually and helped his team place 3rd at the 5A State Championships. Woody turned down offers from Division II college tennis programs to pursue academics at CU-Boulder. He became a tennis pro at Bow Mar, where he worked with juniors, elite high school players, and seasoned adults. He joined the D'Evelyn tennis program in 2016, took over as the head coach of the girls team in 2017 and led the girls to their first state championship, earning coach of the year honors. He also took over the boys program in 2018, after the team finished 6th at the state tournament. Woody is a USPTA certified tennis pro at Apex Tennis Center in Arvada, Colorado. He is looking forward to coaching the boys and girls D'Evelyn tennis teams for years to come. |
