Written by Josh Griffin, Principal We were honored this week to receive notification of the publication of the US News & World Report top high schools of 2020. In the 2020 rankings, the publication ranked D’Evelyn as the #1 high school in Colorado and the #42 high school in the United States. This national ranking was an increase from #131 in the 2019 high school rankings. It is an honor for D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School to be recognized in this list among all the high schools in Colorado and around the United States. You can read more about these rankings and D’Evelyn’s placement therein here. This recognition is a great tribute to the timeless value and positive impact of the D’Evelyn traditional liberal arts educational model. However, we know that the great accomplishments of D’Evelyn students would not be achieved without their own hard work, the knowledge, dedication and commitment of D’Evelyn teachers, and the support of D’Evelyn staff, families, and community members. The D’Evelyn program is rigorous, and designed to challenge our students. There are many moments where we have the opportunity to see the return on investment for our students, and rankings from prominent national publications certainly rank among those examples. In spite of the great challenges we all face as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is my hope that D’Evelyn students, teachers, staff, and families are able to find a sense of appreciation for this recognition as one way to honor the hard work and dedication shown throughout our community. I am proud of our students and teachers. Particularly given the challenges of our remote learning environment and the conditions in society, I found this recognition to be timely and refreshing. Please accept my sincere congratulations to all members of the D’Evelyn community - this honor is a reflection of your hard work and commitment to excellence. I hope that this newsletter continues to find you and your family doing well and staying healthy. As we move into the final few weeks of the school year, please be sure to reach out to teachers, counselors, staff, and administrators when you have questions or seek additional support. I hope that you all have enjoyed this weekend - thank you for all that you do to make D’Evelyn a special school! Comments are closed.
