We have been fortunate to receive two exciting honors/recognition in the past week. At D’Evelyn, we believe that the strong liberal arts program afforded all of our students is a critical factor in their academic success. However, our school’s remarkable track record of achievement could not be achieved without the hard work of D’Evelyn students, the dedication of D’Evelyn faculty and staff, and the support of D’Evelyn parents. D’Evelyn is a challenging program, one that ultimately makes a big impact on the future of D’Evelyn students. I am grateful for the continued, sustained efforts of our students, and believe ultimately that the following recognition are a great tribute to them. Newsweek recognized D’Evelyn as one of the top 500 STEM High School programs in the United States. As a liberal arts junior/senior high school with strong programs in math and science, we are honored to be recognized for the success of our students in disciplines related to science, technology, engineering, and math. To read more about the rankings, please visit the Newsweek release. This is an exciting follow-up to the April 2019 recognition by US News & World Report of D’Evelyn as the top high school in Colorado and the #136 high school in the nation. To read more about that recognition, please visit this US News & World Report release. Additionally, the Colorado Department of Education recognized D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School as a 2019 Colorado John Irwin School of Excellence. This is the 16th consecutive year that D’Evelyn has received the John Irwin Award. The John Irwin Award is granted to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. We are proud that Dennison Elementary School, which serves as the only feeder school to D’Evelyn, was also recognized for their excellence with the John Irwin Award. As we approach Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Break, we have a lot to be thankful for within the D’Evelyn community. I am honored to lead this outstanding school, and to work with students, teachers, parents, and families to continue the success of our liberal arts program in a manner that prepares our students for life. Given the hard work and dedication of our students during this semester, they have earned time off for rest and relaxation during the upcoming Thanksgiving Break. I hope that each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, a great break, and many opportunities to spend time with loved ones. The three weeks of school between Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break will be fast-paced and busy. Comments are closed.
