I hope that you and your family have enjoyed the weekend with great weather. February was a very busy month at D’Evelyn, and as we transition to the last two weeks of school prior to Spring Break, there are several pertinent updates/reminders provided below in this article. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) At the time of this writing, there are eight confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Colorado. From the perspective of Jeffco Schools and D’Evelyn, we have not changed our plans or protocols, in spite of the fake social media posts that were circulated on Friday, March 6th and over the weekend stating that school would be cancelled next week. We do continue to encourage students, staff, and community members to take everyday actions to prevent infection. For further information about those recommended health-related actions, and other updates regarding Covid-19, please consult the following websites: Jeffco Public Schools Coronavirus (Covid-19) webpage Colorado Department of Education Covid-19 Resources for Schools Colorado Department of Public Health and Welfare Coronavirus 2019 webpage Center for Disease Control and Prevention Coronavirus 2019 Disease webpage If you have questions or wish to discuss Covid-19 and its impact on our school further, please contact our school district nurse, Ashley Jetton, at [email protected] or 720-315-3864. We are committed to the health and safety of all our students and will keep the community up to date on any recommended changes to our standard protocols. March 19, 2020 - a reminder that there will be no school for students at D’Evelyn. Link to last week’s Jaguar Tracks article regarding school cancellation on March 19, 2020. Standardized Testing Reminders - we will begin our state standardized assessment season in short order after the conclusion of Spring Break. We encourage D’Evelyn students to give their best efforts on each of these assessments, as they provide feedback on student achievement relative to Colorado Academic Standards, as well as helpful data about the quality and impact of the D’Evelyn Program. Please review and familiarize yourself with our testing calendar for April 2020, particularly for days that different groups of students do and do not need to attend school. Support D’Evelyn Music! Our student-musicians have been working diligently throughout the semester to prepare for their midterm spring season concerts. On Wednesday, March 4th, we had a wonderful Band Concert. During the week of March 9th, there are three evening opportunities scheduled for our students to perform. We look forward to a great turnout of D’Evelyn community members to support our outstanding musicians! Spring Sports - the D’Evelyn spring sports season began on Monday, March 2nd. We are excited for all seven of our CHSAA-sanctioned spring athletic programs and wish our student-athletes and coaches the very best on their way to great success this season. There are many opportunities for D’Evelyn students, staff, families, and community members to support our student-athletes in competition this spring. Those games, meets, and competitions can be found at our D’Evelyn Sports Schedule.
Please accept my very best wishes to your student(s) and family on a great final 2 weeks prior to the start of Spring Break. Comments are closed.
