Across Colorado, the high school graduating Class of 2021 will be subject to new state-wide graduation standards that must be met prior to high school graduation. The D’Evelyn Class of 2021 will be our first class of students that are expected to meet these requirements, and each subsequent graduating class will also be held to the new requirements. Within the D’Evelyn program, our students have four different ways by which they can achieve the competencies in English and Math:
For more information on the D’Evelyn graduation requirements, please visit our Counseling Graduation Requirement web-page. The D’Evelyn counselors have been working to educate students about this upcoming transition in graduation requirements. The counseling team is working with students in whole group presentations and individual student meetings to offer support to ensure that all students are on-track for on-time graduation in May 2021. The D’Evelyn High School graduation requirements have not changed. However, D’Evelyn students, like all students across the state, will be required to demonstrate competency in English and Math beyond their achievements shown on their transcripts. We are confident that the D’Evelyn liberal arts program and the hard work of our students and teachers will provide our students the necessary instruction and support needed to meet these new graduation competencies. However, as a school community of teachers, counselors, and administrators, we are here to support all of our students to ensure that these competencies do not impede on-time graduation for any of our students. If you have questions or would like more information on these new requirements beginning with the Class of 2021, please contact your student’s counselor. Comments are closed.
