Written by: Daniel Wille, Assistant Principal Please join the D’Evelyn Community in congratulating the September Teacher of the Month, Steven Carson! While all teachers need to be recognized and appreciated during this unique era of learning, Steven was especially recognized by his students, their families, and his peers. Below are some of the comments we received from Steven’s nominations: · Mr. Carson has taken on his new role as an online instructor with humor and humility. We so appreciate his dedication to his students during this challenging time. GREAT JOB! · When I asked my student which teacher deserves Teacher of the Month, without skipping a beat, he said Mr. Carson. His online plans have been easy to follow and organized, and the expectations of the students have been very clear. Thanks, Mr. Carson! · Steven has been a huge support in the high school history department. He has spent countless hours teaching us how to use Schoology. He spends lunch giving us tutorials and helping us problem solve our tech issues. Honestly, I am not sure we would be successfully teaching hybrid right now without our "resident millennial"! · Mr. Carson really cares about his students and he really cares about his teaching. For example, he is greatly appreciated for being willing to reflect on his teaching practices and try new techniques, like flipping his classroom. Congratulations Steven, and THANK YOU!
