Written by: Daniel Wille, Assistant Principal We hope you all had a restful and happy Thanksgiving Break! Please help us in congratulating our November 2020 Teacher of the Month, Olivia Schott (Spanish teacher). Below are several nomination comments acknowledging Olivia for her hard work: · Mrs. Schott consistently goes above and beyond when it comes to instruction and her engagement and dedication to students. She is consistently trying to grow in her practice during this hybrid/remote period and is constantly asking for student feedback and suggestions so she can ensure all of her students has what it takes to be successful this year. Her energy is amazing and despite everything happening right now, she always makes her students feel excited and welcomed in her classroom.
· Mrs. Schott is an awesome teacher. She makes sense when she is explaining difficult Spanish grammatical concepts like the subjunctive. Her energy and ways of teaching make the class fun and educational. · Mrs. Schott ("Senora") exceeds the standard of teaching, mentoring, and communicating. Her classes can be challenging but she offers many opportunities to ask clarifying questions and stops routinely to check in with our learning. Her appreciation for her subject and the work that her students do makes me want to excel in her class and further my career in Spanish. The quality of her feedback on our assignments and her utilization of class discussion proves that she wants her students to succeed and cares for their education. Mrs. Schott is understanding, bold, and creative in the classroom. Congratulations, Olivia! Thank you for everything you do for the D’Evelyn community!
