A Tribute to the Class of 2023
Last week marked the end of an era for our seniors, and this week we celebrate one of the most cherished traditions at D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School—the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2023. Throughout the week, we celebrated various milestones, including concerts, art showcases, and yearbook distribution, along with some classic senior shenanigans that have become a tradition at our school. On Friday, the entire D’Evelyn community bid farewell to the Class of 2023, as seniors completed their final exams, projects, and official business with their teachers, officially closing their high school studies. The anticipation grew as the seniors made their final walk through the halls and experienced their final seventh period, marking the end of their journey as students at D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School.
To the D’Evelyn Class of 2023, congratulations on reaching this significant milestone! The entire D'Evelyn community is proud of you and your accomplishments during your time here. As you move on to the next chapter in your life, we wish you all the best of luck, good health, and the unwavering belief that you can achieve your dreams and goals. May this be the beginning of a fulfilling and successful journey for every member of the Class of 2023.
The school year is coming to an end, and to celebrate, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are invited to a drive-in movie night on Tuesday, May 16th. The event will take place in the West Parking Lot, and the featured film will be the Disney movie "Cars". The lot will open at 8:15 pm, and the movie will begin at 8:45 pm. Admission to the event is free, but popcorn will be sold on-site. It is important to note that the movie sound will be broadcast through an FM transmitter, so it's necessary to ensure that your car has radio capabilities. Come out and enjoy a fun evening with your peers while celebrating the end of the school year!

The D'Evelyn boys' golf team will be holding tryouts for the Fall 2023 season during the summer on Monday, July 31st and Tuesday, August 1st, at Indian Tree Golf Course. These tryouts are open to students who will be entering grades 9-12. Students who are interested in trying out for the team can join the Google Classroom (code 5qnteke), which will serve as the main communication channel for the team throughout the summer.
Before participating in the tryouts, students must have a registered and updated physical, as well as be registered with the athletic department. It's important to note that due to the scheduling of tee times, students must register in advance for the tryouts. More information on how to register for tryouts will be provided via Google Classroom during the summer.
If anyone has any questions regarding the tryouts or the team, they can email Mr. Boswell at email@example.com. It sounds like it will be an exciting season, and good luck to all the students who will be trying out for the team!
