We are so fortunate to have a wonderfully talented group of administrative assistants here at D’Evelyn. This Wednesday is Administrative Assistants Day, if you get the chance this week, you and/or your child/ren are encouraged to give them some words of appreciation either in person or with a card, email, or phone call. The following administrative assistants are the backbone of our school and keep everything running smoothly: Jan Skelton, Beth Raczynski, Jennifer Lillibridge, DJ Mallet, Crystal Frigo, Lorraine Barnes, Kim Racine, Ginger Gee, and Nader Sheikhan.

We are excited to announce that the D’Evelyn music department will be expanding in 2023-2024. In March, Dr. Theis let the administration know that he would not be returning next school year, as he was moving to New Orleans. We are thankful for the work Dr. Theis put into our music program this year, and we wish him well on his future endeavors. After a thorough process, we have hired Matthew Morrissette to fill the Instrumental Music and Band Director position. Mr. Morrissette will be teaching all band classes and the Orchestra Level 2 class. Mr. Matthew Morrissette is entering his 7th year of teaching after graduating from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2017 with a Music Education Degree. Mr. Morrissette began his musical career in Jeffco in the Green Mountain Area where he played the saxophone (And continues to play today). He later went on to perform in the Green Mountain High School Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and Pit Orchestra before graduating from Green Mountain in 2011. During his time at MSU Denver, Mr. Morrissette began teaching as a Woodwind Instructor for Green Mountain High from 2012-2016 as well as serving in the same position for Fairview High School in 2016. Mr. Morrissette student-taught with Tim Libby at Cherry Creek High School. In 2017 he was offered the Band Director Position at Green Mountain High School. During his time there he increased program enrollment from 70 to over 100 total students in two years, expanded the Jazz Program to two bands of 18, and expanded the Marching Band from under 40 to 65 prior to the pandemic. Finally, Mr. Morrissette obtained his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in October of 2022. Mr. Morrissette is thrilled to be starting the next chapter of his teaching career with the D’Evelyn students and staff this fall.
In the near future Mr. Morrissette will have a meeting for Marching Band members and families. If you have questions you can email him at [email protected].
