The Dash will take place on August 29th this year and the Dash Crew could use your help!
Come join a fun team! Here’s how you can get involved: Dash Chair: Are you good at organizing people? The Dash Crew needs you! We are looking for 1-2 people to shadow our current Dash chairs. We have all the information organized in google drive/gmail and we have an amazing team of volunteers for the various Dash jobs. You would just need to oversee the team and keep things moving along. Most work can be done at home and on your own time. Sponsorship: We are looking for 1-2 people to help with sponsorship. We have all sponsorship documentation in google drive, so you aren't having to "reinvent the wheel." We have also built a healthy list of sponsors. We just need people to follow up with them and keep things organized. Most of the work is done on the computer and during the months of March-May. Graphic Design Help: We are looking for someone who can work with adobe illustrator and help create Dash flyers and other publicity items. All templates are created but just need to be updated. Work can be done at home and on your own time. Publicity: We need someone to shadow our current publicity chair. This position requires some work in May when early registration opens and again in August just before the Dash. Most work can be done on your own time. Smaller Jobs: Not sure where you want to help or maybe you can take on pieces but not the whole thing? Email us at [email protected]. We can use your help in any way and would love to work with you! We hope that everyone is ready to look ahead to some fun activities in 2020. Join one of these upcoming D'Evelyn Social Events, hosted by your fellow D'Evelyn families. It's a great way to bring together families, students, teachers, staff, and our community together in mutual support for our wonderful school. Break out of this winter hibernation, have a little fun, and see old friends or make new ones in our D'Evelyn community! These Socials are hosted by D’Evelyn Parents, Staff and/or Teachers and take place throughout the year. Volunteer party hosts have agreed to pay for all costs related to the party and interested guests will purchase a ticket/entry through DEF Website. 100% of the money raised from these Socials goes to the D’Evelyn Education Foundation to support student and teacher scholarships. These Socials serve two purposes – (1) much needed funds are raised for the school and (2) it’s a great way to meet other amazing D’Evelyn families! When a party sign-up is full a wait list will be started. You will not be charged for adding your name to a waitlist unless the hosts add you to their party.
All proceeds are tax-deductible and contribute to the D’Evelyn Education Foundation and DEF scholarship programs at D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School. For a full party description and details, please contact Ann Koerner at [email protected] or [email protected]. We are so grateful for our party hosts and thank you for your generous support! By Jenna Spendlove, DEF Manager As 2019 concludes, it is a great time to celebrate the many accomplishments of our amazing students, dedicated staff, and to be thankful for the wonderful opportunities D’Evelyn provides for our families. There is no doubt that D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School is a special school. The commitment of our students, faculty, and staff is integral to the success of our rigorous liberal arts program. Year after year, D’Evelyn’s name appears at the top of the list of best schools in the state. We continue to see excellent academic achievements, including the highest scores in the state on standardized tests, excellent AP pass-rates and the lowest college remediation rates in the state. In addition to the numerous academic accolades, our sports programs compete at every level and our performing arts programs continue to bring home awards and state-titles. Recently, you should have received our Annual Campaign letter along with an email detailing the D’Evelyn Education Foundation’s (DEF) 2019-2020 budget accomplishments and goals. The DEF Board of Directors is grateful for the steady and consistent support we receive from D’Evelyn families. It’s not too late for you to make a difference! Every year, DEF fundraises the necessary funds through a variety of methods and events. We now ask you to help us raise an additional $40,000 so we may continue to fund our many worthwhile programs. If each of D’Evelyn’s 750 families contributed only $54 we would reach this goal! It is the continued generosity of people like you that will enable D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School to continue to thrive. We hope that you share the gratitude we feel for the education and opportunities that D’Evelyn provides for our children. There is no other tuition-free program that can compete with what D’Evelyn offers. We know you have many organizations looking for your support. We ask that you consider contributing to the Annual Campaign as part of your yearly charitable donations. No contribution is too small as we attempt to raise $40,000 during this year’s Annual Campaign. Please make your check payable to “DEF” and mail it to the school, marked “c/o DEF”, or use our website, http://develyneducationfoundation.weebly.com/ to donate online today. After clicking donate, you will have the option of choosing a one-time or monthly donation. Once sent, smile in the knowledge that your donation will contribute to the continued excellence of our enriching academic program! In addition, a simple way for D’Evelyn community members to support our school is to utilize the free AmazonSmile function when shopping at Amazon. This will donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity (D'Evelyn Education Foundation). Items that are eligible for donations will be marked as such on their product pages. The only real catch is you must start your shopping at smile.amazon.com, which is a small price to pay to have a portion of your purchases go to D'Evelyn! It is time to put together the Finals Care Packages for our hardworking students. We will be assembling the care packages on December 16th from 12:15 - 2:30 on the auditorium stage. Please sign up using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0948aaae23a31-finals Thank you! Questions? The Jr. High Boosters Club was created to help build a sense of community amongst our Junior High Students. Each year, a few events are held to achieve that mission. Your participation would be truly appreciated to ensure the success of these happenings and to guarantee an awesome year for our students. Please contact D’[email protected]. The 19th annual D’Evelyn DASH was a terrific kickoff to the school year. 31 student groups and sponsors set up activity and information booths and 327 walkers and runners in the 5K and 2K enjoyed a beautiful morning. Thank you to all who registered for the 5K or 2K, bought a T-shirt, donated items, volunteered, sponsored, hosted a booth, bought a door prize ticket, or gave your time or talent in any way. You made the DASH a great day! Proceeds are managed by the D’Evelyn Education Foundation and are distributed throughout the year to benefit arts, academics, activities and athletics. The Dash Crew would like to especially thank the following groups:
The Dash could not have happened without these clubs going above and beyond to help! We so appreciate you! We would also like to thank the following student clubs/teams that hosted a booth this year:
The Dash appreciates you participating this year. Hopefully, this was a successful fundraiser for your club or team! The DASH brought in a record amount in sponsorship's this year! The overwhelming majority of these sponsors have a direct connection to D’Evelyn, whether they are D’Evelyn parents, D’Evelyn alumni, or friends and family of parents at the school. These sponsorship numbers reflect the immense pride we as a D’Evelyn community have for our school, students, and staff. Please support those that support our efforts at D’Evelyn The DASH Committee Interested in having a booth at the DASH and earning some money & recognition for your club or sport? Contact [email protected] for more details. But wait, there's more! This year we will have another draw for a $75.00 Visa gift card to be used for doughnuts, ice cream or whatever your team/club sees fit. All booth requests that have been submitted by Wednesday, August 21st will be entered. Draw will be made during announcements on Thursday, August 22nd! By Ralph K. Spencer, D'Evelyn Education Foundation Board of Directors Those of you who have balances on your D'Evelyn King Soopers cards are in good shape. Your current cards can be used until the balance reaches 0, and D'Evelyn will continue to receive 5% of those purchases. However, as of April 1, 2019, these cards are no longer reloadable. To convert to the new system, simply visit the appropriate link, below:
Once at the appropriate link, click on Welcome Sign In, My Account. Enter your email address and password to sign into My Account. New users will need to create an account, which requires some basic information, a valid email address, and a loyalty card. The loyalty card, of course, is the card we all use when shopping at King Soopers or City Market to assure we receive all the available discounts. Once logged into My Account, click on Community Rewards in the menu under My Account. You can search for D'Evelyn by entering the word D'Evelyn or the school's unique 5-digit code, XT742, and then click Enroll. You are now successfully enrolled in D'Evelyn's new Community Rewards Program! Please recall that purchases at King Soopers or City Market will not count for D'Evelyn until after you enroll your loyalty card. Participants must swipe their enrolled King Soopers or City Market loyalty card or use the phone number related to your registered/enrolled King Soopers or City Market loyalty card when shopping in order for each purchase to count towards D'Evelyn's 5% rebate. The beauty of this new system is that D'Evelyn supporters will no longer have to continually remember to reload their D'Evelyn King Soopers or City Market loyalty cards in order to assure that D'Evelyn receives 5% of your purchases. You will also not require multiple cards for family members. You and everyone in your family who uses your loyalty card (or the phone number related to your registered/enrolled King Soopers or City Market loyalty card) will be able to make purchases that generate 5% for D'Evelyn. Simply stop by a King Soopers or City Market store, pick up a loyalty card if you do not already have one, enroll the card, and start shopping. Our goal this school year is to raise $30,000 over the next 12 months. Sound unlikely? I don't think so. If only 100 D'Evelyn families (we have over 600 families represented at D'Evelyn) spent $500 each month at King Soopers and City Market (including gasoline), the total spent each month would be $50,000, or $600,000 over 1 year ($50,000 x 12). D'Evelyn's 5% share of this $600,000 would equal $30,000, or $2,500 each month. Note that this example includes less than 20% of D'Evelyn families! As you can see, the $30,000 goal noted above is very doable! Please, link your King Soopers/City Market loyalty card to D'Evelyn and watch the Jaguar Tracks for monthly updates on how we are doing toward our $30,000 this school year.
