We are very excited about the 2023 track season! We want to invite all high school students to join the Jaguar Track & Field team this spring! We are a no-cut sport that offers an opportunity for all athletes to improve during the season. Athletes work with supportive coaching staff who encourage them to practice and compete to their fullest potential. There is an event in which any athlete can excel and find success without any previous experience. Please visit the DHS T&F website for information on our team store, pre-season clinic, and season schedule! Our student informational meeting is on Monday, January 30th during 7th hour in the library! Congratulations to Senior Michelle Carmer, her artwork was selected to be a part of a district Art Show known as the Power of Process. Mr. Anneberg also has a work of art displayed in the teacher portion of this same show. The Power of Process is being exhibited in the Foothills Art Center located in downtown Golden. The exhibition had an opening reception on January 27 and the show will remain up until early April. Go and check out this unique show if you have the opportunity!
Congratulations to Lexi Ornstein and Kaden Graper for qualifying for the State Championships in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom. Both students compete for Evergreen High School as part of the Jeffco Ski Team. The state tournament will be held at Copper Mountain on February 16th and 17th.

Go Team D'Evelyn! Take State in March! By: Tammie Peters
The Forensics/Speech and Debate team started the season with a strong showing during the first semester. With only 5 team members to start the competitive season, the Jaguars roared loudly. On November 19, they competed against 35 other metro-area schools at Eaglecrest’s Raptor Rumble. Kendall Miller won 5th place in Informative Speaking and Reilly Harrington won a superior ribbon in Informative Speaking. At the Chatfield Chill on December 3, Tae Kim won 3rd place in Extemporaneous Speaking. These tournaments were preparation for our Jeffco League Tournament on December 10 at Golden High School. Tae Kim placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking. Kendall Miller won 1st in Informative Speaking. As a team, D’Evelyn won the plaque for highest team average. Way to go! The Jaguar speakers will compete in January and February to get ready for State at the end of February and the National Qualifying tournaments in March. |
