As an upperclassman, Jett knew that he would be counted on to provide leadership to the team this season. He worked hard during the summer and came into the season ready to go. He leads by example as his hard work has helped him become the team leader in each of our meets throughout the first half of the season. Congratulations Jett!” -Coach Bell, Head Cross Country Coach Jayden Miller: 12th Grade “A student-athlete is someone who is incredibly hard-working, self-motivated, and disciplined; they are poised under stress and resilient while balancing school, athletics, and social demands. This month’s student-athlete for XC is Jayden Miller. She shows her dedication to both academics and athletics with her rigorous academic schedule, including 4 AP classes. Jayden has learned how taking care of yourself and believing in yourself translates to success. She put in an incredible amount of work in the summer to start the season in shape after sustaining multiple injuries. She is willing to jump in at any point. She has been wonderful in yearbook helping to train students how to use the camera, giving feedback on their templates, and without being reminded, she's taken photos at many events. She is a great example of what it means to have school spirit, as well. She took the time to make shirts for the Juniors playing Powder Puff, dressed up every day, encouraged others, and was a joy at the dance.” -Ms. Choun, Math Teacher Brody Wilson: 12th Grade “Brody encompasses what we want a D'Evelyn student to be. He is a strong student, he participates in a variety of athletic and activity programs throughout the school, and he is always willing to express his joy and support for D'Evelyn. If there is an after-school activity/game, Brody is there cheering on his classmates. He goes out of his way to mentor younger students, and he sets the example for how to be successful and have fun at the same time. I have leaned on Brody this year to help spread school spirit and engagement at D'Evelyn, and Brody has led the charge. I couldn't be more proud of the leader that Brody has become. She leads vocally and by example, continually pushing herself and her teammates to strive for better. She shows commitment in both her academics and athletics and she's a true competitor which is one of the many reasons we love having her in our program. I believe that Jordan's work ethic will help push our program to a great 2022 season!” -Coach Haun, Head Girls Volleyball Coach Easton Robberson (12th Grade) “Easton Robberson has been playing golf all four of his years at D'Evelyn. Going from where he was at as a freshman until now is why he is deserving of recognition. Easton has consistently shown up to events with a positive attitude, a commitment to improving, as well as showing the younger kids on the team the right way to practice and carry themselves. Over the past four years he has improved tremendously and has worked on improving over the summer each year. Besides that, Easton has always handled adversity with his head held high on and off the golf course. His respectable approach towards golf and his teammates cannot be overstated and he will be truly missed on the golf team next year.” -Coach Boswell, Head Boys Golf Coach |
