By: Greg Kottcamp, Assistant Principal The Final Exam Days for the first semester will be December 20th and 21st. The bell schedule for these two days are as follows: There will be no lunch period during the Final Exam days, so students are encouraged to have snacks available during passing periods and as appropriate once testing is complete in a class period. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria from 7 - 7:30 am on both days of Final Exams.
The D’Evelyn faculty, staff, and administration wish all students good luck for great performances on their upcoming final exams, as well as with wrapping up other projects, tests, and assignments for this semester. We hope that this has been a great semester of learning and growth for your student(s). In the event that a student is sick and misses Final Exams, make-up exams may be scheduled with the teacher(s) and will be taken after Winter Break. Winter Break for students begins at the conclusion of the final exams on Tuesday, December 21st. The Spring semester will begin for students on Wednesday, January 5. We wish you and your family a wonderful, restful holiday season and look forward to seeing everyone back here at D’Evelyn in the New Year. By: Lisa Bell, Teacher Librarian
Congratulations to Quentin Jones for winning D’Evelyn Library’s first Pumpkin Extravaganza with his pumpkin characters Wilbur and Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web! By: Dan Wille, Assistant Principal As Veterans Day approaches, it is important to take time to acknowledge the meaning of this national holiday. D’Evelyn strives to prepare students for roles as active, informed citizens who celebrate the strengths of our nation. To celebrate our patriotism we emphasize the unique values, freedoms, and liberties essential to the United States and can think of no better group of heroes who represent the importance of these lofty ideals than the men and women who have unselfishly served our nation. Our veterans and active duty service members sacrifice tremendously giving up their safety, comforts of home, friends and family, and at times their lives to model true service, heroism, and honor. By their selfless service they show us that the democratic ideals upon which our country was founded and the freedom which the United States personifies are worth fighting to protect. We find it imperative that we thank these men and women for their self-sacrifice and service to our country. Thus, we are excited to celebrate our veterans and their families at D’Evelyn’s Veterans Day Tribute Event on November 11th. Please see the below information for more details:
