By: Dan Wille, Assistant Principal D’Evelyn Jr/Sr High School Standard of Dress The D’Evelyn Jr/Sr High School Standard of Dress is designed to provide guidelines for the appropriate dress at school in order to foster an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning (FD2). The dress code also promotes noble values, such as integrity, honor, and respect for self and others (FD 12). Staff and students are expected to comply with our Standard of Dress during the school day and to represent D’Evelyn with dignity by our attire at all school-sanctioned events, inside or outside the walls of the building. While D’Evelyn respects students’ rights to express themselves in the way they dress, all clothing must be appropriate for a grade 6-12 educational environment. Appearance or dress that is disruptive to the educational process; that constitutes a health or safety hazard; that has the potential of causing personal embarrassment; that displays divisive, vulgar, or derogatory comments; or that causes any kind of classroom disruption, is prohibited.
