By: Eric McCaslin-Hahn, Assistant Principal, Athletics and Activities Director Congratulations to the Athlete of the Month winners for the month of March. These winners were chosen by their coaches based on their leadership qualities, work ethic, and other traits that represent what D'Evelyn wants to see in all of their Student-Athletes. They were chosen out of all the Student-Athletes at D'Evelyn. Gemma McIntyre - 11th Grade Gemma is a force multiplier of positivity. Her respect for teammates and coaches is unparalleled. She is a source of enthusiasm & a leader amongst her peers. She holds a 4.0 GPA and is equally excited about her accomplishments in the classroom and the field. - Coach Plyler, Head Girls Soccer Coach Spencer Sheldon - 12th Grade As 1 of 12 events, diving is a crucial aspect of our swimming & diving team's success. Spencer Sheldon has been an integral part of the AquaJags for the past 4 years. He has established himself as a leader on the team and amongst his competitors. Within the first two meets, Spencer quickly qualified for 4A state, an accomplishment he has achieved every year of competition. As a sophomore and junior, he placed 6th & 5th at 4A State. He will be a key player for the AquaJags at League and State in his final year. Spencer's attention to detail and ability to take critiques and apply them effectively to his diving are the biggest contributors to his overall success. He is incredibly supportive of his teammates as well as makes every effort to get to know and cheer for his competitors at meets. Spencer embodies what we want all AquaJags to strive to be: a fierce competitor with exemplary sportsmanship and work ethic. Comments are closed.
