By: Eric McCaslin-Hahn, Assistant Principal and Activities Director Congratulations to the D’Evelyn Mock Trial Teams for an amazing season! Both teams performed well at the Regional competition (18-19 February). Team A qualified for the State Tournament (18-19 March) and scored high in their categories at the State competition. Out of the 20 teams that qualified for State, Team A tied for 6th; winning the top 10 in round 1, top 6 in round 2, top 6 in round 3, and tied for 7th in round 4. D'Evelyn came away with the following individual awards: Best Witness overall - Anthony "Tony" Adams Best witness (character name: Dr. Casey Rogers)- #1 - Anthony "Tony" Adams Best witness (character name: Skyler Weirs)- #1- Sophie Liebman Congratulations to these individual award winners and the entire D'Evelyn Mock Trial Team A for their outstanding performance on 18-19 March. Team A members: Tony Adams, Mathias Bauer, Kian Carney, Alex Holland, Margaret "Maggie" Holland, Hannah Moskowitz, and Sophie Liebman. Team A at state competition pictured below. I would encourage all students entering 9th through 12th next year to come out and meet the team at the Mock Trial table at the D'evelyn Dash and/or come to the first practice and learn all about Mock Trial and what skills it offers which translate to high school and real world application. It is a great opportunity! We are also looking for coaches for next year- either parents who have some trial or legal experience, alumni, and/or family and friends who can spare some time to come help and support the team!
