Written by: Tim Schmeckpeper, AFSC, Assistant Principal Attention students and families. We are pleased to announce the launch of a revised Peer Tutoring Program. The 2020/COVID version will be conducted virtually via Zoom Meetings in the late afternoon/early evening. The program has been redesigned and will be supervised by Ms. Katie Lewis. Ms. Lewis oversaw the Peer Tutoring Program last year, administered the Academic Assistance Center, and also taught several study skills classes. We are in need of several peer tutors to help students who may be struggling in the hybrid or remote learning models. Students, please consider applying your academic skills in service to your fellow students. It will be a rewarding experience. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please go to the D’Evelyn website, under the Academics tab, and fill out the “D’Evelyn Peer Tutoring Interest Form.” We need several Peer tutors and Ms. Lewis will contact you. Students who are in need of tutoring may also sign-up using the same “D’Evelyn Peer Tutoring Interest Form” found on the D’Evelyn website under the Academics tab. There are two ways for a student to participate in the Peer Tutoring Program: (1) Students may participate on a “drop-in” basis and be assigned to a tutor for that particular day and session for help with things like specific assignments, projects, or test prep. -or- (2) Students may request to be assigned to an individual tutor who will meet with them on a regularly scheduled basis for ongoing assistance.
